Khailan Rock Monument in Dornod

 

Khailan Rock is a monumental complex located in Chuluunkhoroot soum of Dornod province. There are deer stones, Kurgan stelae and slab graves in Khailan Rock site. All of the monuments date back to the Bronze Age and it is really rare in Mongolia to find these different types of monument in one spot. The slab grave culture dates back to 1300-300BC and it was an exclusive culture to the Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age Mongols. There are over 500 Bronze Age slab graves discovered and examined by researches in Mongolia.
