Shargaljuut Spring Bayankhongor

Shargaljuut Spring is located in Erdenetsogt soum, Bayankhongor province, on the banks of Shargaljuut River. The locals have been using the mineral water of Shargaljuut Spring for centuries to treat a lot of different types of diseases. There are over 50 different types of mineral water in the area and in 17^th century a group of Mongolian and Tibetan therapists determined the correct usage and spread the news across Mongolia. But during the autonomous governance, even people from China and Russia used to come. Later a scholar from India named Rikhe Azala came and assessed the mineral water and ascertained it has properties to cure 64 kinds of diseases after 3 years of hermitry. Shargaljuut spa resort was established in the 1950’s and has been in business ever since. Nowadays, the resort hosts 3500-4000 patients a year around the year.
