Bulgan Capital City of Bulgan Province

Bulgan Town is the capital of Bulgan province and it is located 318km to the northwest of Ulaanbaatar city. Previously under Selenge province’s jurisdiction, Bulgan Town or Bulgan soum became the capital of Bulgan province in 1938. Nowadays the town has a population of 11,000 – 12,000 people. Bulgan is connected to both Ulaanbaatar city and Erdenet city via highway and the road to Murun city from Ulaanbaatar goes through the town as well.
