Lam Dondov Spring in Darkhan-Uul

Lam Dondov Spring is a freshwater spring located in Salkhit bag, Khongor soum of Darkhan-Uul province, between the Erkhet Khairkhan Mountain and Kharaa River. Locals believe the spring has healing properties, especially for stomach and digestive system as well as other internal aches. Folks used to get their drinking water from the spring during summertime and sometimes they used the water to distill high quality traditional alcoholic drink when their cattle gave more than sufficient amount of milk. Regarding the name of the spring, a highly regarded monk named Dondov used to live on the mountainside of Erkhet Khairkhan and he used to drink from the spring and people came to see him started calling it Lam Dondov Spring.
